The Journey of Emma's Hexagonal Writing

The Journey of a Paper

Emma was learning the Hexagonal Model (Joyce Armstrong Carroll) of analyzing a piece of literature. I've captured each  phase of her process, documenting the significant growth over time. 

She began by writing on notebook paper. 

  As her writing was difficult to read, I typed it to demonstrate the original nature of her writing. 

 

When she typed it into google docs and used Grammarly, she corrected many of her own mistakes. There is also significant evidence of revision for coherence and clarity. She explained that she had new ideas as she typed. Then, we ratiocinated for sentence beginnings and sentence structure. 

 

We had been working on sentence structure, commas, and capitalization, so her clocking sheet looked like this: 

 

And here is the final copy.

As you can see, the authentic nature of writing as a process caused SIGNIFICANT  growth and sophistication for this writer.
